Description
Northern part of Viet Nam was hit by flashflood and landslide. The affected 12 (twelve) provinces are: Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Lang Son, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Son La, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Bac Giang and Tuyen Quang. Based on the report, Sa Pa district of Lao Cai Province was the worst flood affected area. IMPACT - 25 death - 16 injured - 2 missing - 38 houses were collapsed - 139 houses were damaged - 6,789 ha of rice and crops were submerged - Damaged embankment and road in Phu Tho and Lao Cai Province. - Estimated cost of damage is 1.8 million USD RESPONSE - The government rebuild the damaged road and infrastructure - 200 tons of relief items has been provided for the victims
