Description
ccording to preliminary reports from the provinces of Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, and Phu Tho, heavy rain from the night of May 7th to the morning of May 8th caused the following damage:
- Regarding injuries: 01 person was injured in Tuyen Quang (due to a fiber cement roof falling on them).
- Regarding homes: 121 houses had their roofs blown off (4 in Lao Cai; 86 in Tuyen Quang; 31 in Phu Tho).
- Regarding education: 3 schools in Tuyen Quang were affected.
- Regarding agriculture: 412.3 hectares of rice, vegetables, and crops were damaged (Lao Cai 7.3 hectares; Tuyen Quang 405 hectares).
- Regarding irrigation: 180m of embankment has collapsed or broken in Phu Tho province.
- Regarding transportation: 12 landslides have occurred on rural roads in Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho provinces.
- Other damage: 3 factory buildings had their roofs blown off, 10 electrical poles were knocked down.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities mobilized forces to assist people in overcoming the consequences and quickly stabilizing their lives.
