According to preliminary reports from the Departments of Agriculture and Environment of Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Gia Lai, and Lam Dong provinces, rain accompanied by thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hailstorms that occurred from the night of April 15th to the morning of April 18th caused the following damage:
- Regarding casualties: 1 person died (Thai Nguyen, due to a falling tree); 1 person is missing (Tuyen Quang, swept away by water while crossing a flooded bridge); 4 people were injured (Lao Cai).
- Regarding housing: 3 houses completely collapsed (1 in Lao Cai, 2 in Lam Dong); 5,454 houses were damaged or had their roofs blown off (8 in Tuyen Quang, 429 in Cao Bang, 1,043 in Lao Cai, 136 in Thai Nguyen, 191 in Phu Tho, 3,613 in Thanh Hoa, 15 in Quang Tri, 10 in Gia Lai, 9 in Lam Dong).
- Regarding agriculture and livestock: 1,667.15 hectares of rice, flowers, vegetables, crops, and fruit trees were damaged (Tuyen Quang 46.75; Cao Bang 393.6; Lao Cai 582; Thai Nguyen 190.5; Thanh Hoa 454.3); 1 head of livestock (Cao Bang) and 1,200 poultry (Lao Cai 500, Thanh Hoa 700) died.
- Regarding other damage: 15 schools were affected (Cao Bang 4, Lao Cai 5, Thai Nguyen 5, Thanh Hoa 1); 1 medical facility was affected (Cao Bang); 11 auxiliary buildings and cultural centers were damaged or had their roofs blown off (Lao Cai 2, Thai Nguyen 3, Thanh Hoa 2, Quang Tri 4); 23 power poles were broken or collapsed; 3 motorbikes, 4 cars; 18 computer sets were damaged.
Estimated total economic damage: over 57.34 billion VND (Cao Bang 18.5 billion VND; Lao Cai 35 billion VND; Thai Nguyen 2.7 billion VND; Gia Lai 0.64 billion VND; Lam Dong 0.5 billion VND; other provinces do not yet have economic damage figures).
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities mobilized forces to assist people in overcoming the consequences and quickly stabilizing their lives; they also continued to assess and compile the extent of the damage.

- Regarding casualties: 4 people were injured (Lao Cai).
- Regarding housing: 3 houses completely collapsed (1 in Lao Cai, 2 in Lam Dong); 1,036 houses had their roofs blown off (1,002 in Lao Cai, 15 in Quang Tri, 9 in Lam Dong, 10 in Gia Lai).
- Regarding agriculture and livestock: 549,783 hectares of flowers, vegetables, crops, and fruit trees were damaged; 500 poultry died (Lao Cai).
- Regarding other damage: 05 schools were affected (Lao Cai); 06 auxiliary buildings and cultural centers were damaged or had their roofs blown off (Lao Cai 02, Quang Tri 04); 05 power poles were broken or collapsed (Lao Cai).
The estimated total economic damage is approximately 35.14 billion VND (Lao Cai 34 billion; Lam Dong 0.5 billion; Gia Lai 0.64 billion).
