Viet Nam, Storms and Strong Winds in Lao Cai and Cao Bang

According to preliminary reports from the localities of Lao Cai and Cao Bang, the thunderstorms and hailstorms on March 29 caused the following damage:

- Regarding casualties: 3 people injured (Lao Cai)

- Regarding housing: 7 houses completely collapsed (Lao Cai); 4,181 houses had their roofs blown off (4,159 houses in Lao Cai; 22 houses in Cao Bang).

- Regarding agriculture: 4.9 hectares of crops and 0.7 hectares of industrial and fruit trees were damaged (Lao Cai).

- Regarding education and culture: 7 schools and 3 cultural centers had their roofs blown off (Lao Cai).

- Regarding electricity: 4 power poles were broken and collapsed (Lao Cai).

Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities transported the injured to hospitals for emergency treatment; mobilized forces to assist people in overcoming the consequences, quickly stabilizing their lives, and continued to review, compile, and assess the damage.
