Description

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) and Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) have caused flooding Maguindanao since 21 July 2013. On 31 July, the Province of Maguindanao was placed under the State of Calamity. As of today, 7 (seven) out of 20 (twenty) affected municipalities are still flooded. These flooded municipalities are Pagalungan, Datu Montawai, Sultan Kudarat, Mother Kabuntalan, Nothern Kabuntalan, Datu Piang and Mamasapano. Sultan Kudarat is the most affected area. IMPACT - 49,615 families/247,428 people were affected. - 7,539 families/37,695 people were displaced in Sultan Kudarat. RESPONSE - DSWD-DROMIC provided nearly 61,500 USD to the province. - DSWD-CO prepositioned 30,000 family food packs amounting to 170,000 USD - OCD-ARMM through PDRRMO Maguindanao distributed Non Food Items. In detail: 357 water barells, 2400 blankets, 1756 mosquito nets, 1439 sleeping mats, 600 clothing for childre, 500 hygiene kits, 400 tarpaulins, 175 thermal jugs and 400 pillows
