Description

On 26 May 2026, 2:00 PM, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 05e) monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility

(PAR) has developed into a Tropical Depression (TD) and was forecasted to enter the PAR as a Tropical Storm (TS) and

may reach Typhoon (TY) category on 30 May 2026 over the Philippine Sea.

On 27 May 2026, 8:00 AM, the TD (Formerly LPA 05e) monitored outside PAR has intensified into TS "JANGMI" and was

forecasted to move generally northwestward over the Philippine Sea before turning north northwestward to northward by

weekend. TS "JANGMI" was forecasted to enter PAR on 28 May 2026 evening and will be given a local name

"DOMENG".

On 28 May 2026, 12:30 AM, TS "JANGMI" has entered PAR and was assigned the domestic name "DOMENG". TS

"DOMENG" was forecasted less likely to directly affect the weather condition of the country in the next 24 hours.

However, the southwesterly windflow enhanced by "DOMENG" may bring heavy rains over the western portions of the

country beginning 31 May 2026.

On 29 May 2026, TS "DOMENG" was forecasted to slightly intensify while movin northwestward over the Philippine Sea.

It was forecasted to continue moving generally northwestward until 31 May 2026 before turning north northwestward to

northeastward for the remaining forecast period. This tropical cyclone is less likely to make landfall over the country.

"DOMENG" will likely exit the PAR on 01 June 2026. At 11:00 PM, "DOMENG" has intensified into a Severe Tropical

Storm (STS).

On 30 May 2026, 2:00 PM, "DOMENG" has intensified into a TY. "DOMENG" was still forecasted to recurve towards

southern Japan and was less likely to make landfall over the country. DOMENG will likely exit the Philippine Area of

Responsibility (PAR) by 01 June 2026.

On 31 May 2026, 5:00 AM, "DOMENG" is moving north northwestward over the sea east of Batanes.

No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is currenly hoisted. Meanwhile, the trough of LPA 05e/TS "JANGMI" (pre-DOMENG)

has been bringing rainfall over portions of Mindanao since 24 May 2026.
