Description
Typhoon HAIYAN has affected Viet Nam with the sustained wind of 160 km/h on 9 November 2013 crossing many provinces in the central region. Preparation and evacuation has been conducted from Thanh Hoa up to Phu Yen province in order to minimize the impact. IMPACT - No fatality because of the typhoon, however 14 people died during the preparation. - 4 missing and 81 injured - 2,601 houses were damaged where 2,347 in Quang Ninh. - 49,096 ha of agriculture area was damaged RESPONSE The Government of Viet Nam, as preventive action, has evacuated over 850,000 people in central and southern region, from Than Hoa to Phu Yen Province since last week.
