Update 18 Feb 2018 = Tropical Storm Sanba (Basyang) felt Philippines Areas of Responsibility on 16 Feb 2018. 1) A total of 57,192 families / 238,068 persons were affected in 517 barangays in Regions MIMAROPA, VI, VII, VIII and CARAGA. 2) A total of 844 families or 3771 persons are staying inside 19 evacuation centers in Regions MIMAROPA, VII and CARAGA. According to the affected population data, the most affected province was Bohol Province. 3) A total of 21 road sections and 7 bridges were affected in Regions VI, VII, VIII and CARAGA. 4) There was no indication that international assistance needed. = Update 13 Feb 2018 = Tropical depression Basyang is now traversing the Sulu Sea after making landfall in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, state weather bureau PAGASA said Wednesday. In its 5 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said Basyang, with international name Sanba, has maintained its west northwest direction and is forecast to make a possible landfall over Southern Palawan Wednesday night. Basyang had maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, with gusts of up to 60 kph. It is forecast to move west southwest at a speed of 26 kph. Tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 remains hoisted over the following areas: Northern section of Zamboanga del Norte Palawan, including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands Southern section of Negros Occidental Southern section of Negros Oriental Scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains will prevail over Palawan and Western Visayas in the next 24 hours. The Visayas, Bicol, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will experience scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rains. As of 4 a.m., the eye of the tropical depression was located 185 kilometers west southwest of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. Basyang is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday. = Update 12 Feb 2018 = Issued at 5:00 PM today, "BASYANG" has slightly accelerated while moving closer towards eastern Mindanao. Scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains will prevail in the next 24 hours over Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula and the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, North Cotabato, Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur. Residents of these areas must continue monitoring for updates, take precautionary measures against possible flooding and landslides, and coordinate with their respective local disaster risk reduction and management offices. Expected to make landfall in Caraga Region tomorrow morning or afternoon (February 13). Update on 10 February 2018 = 1) Local Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Jakarta Region reported all inundation have been receded. 2) 1,100 people still displaced to 10 evacuation centers in East and South Jakarta. = Update on 6 February 2018 = 1) Local Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Jakarta Region reported 11450 people / 7228 families are affected in 20 sub-districts, 12 districts in East Jakarta and South Jakarta. 2) Around 6,532 people are evacuated to 31 evacuation centers in South Jakarta and East Jakarta. 3) Initial estimation suggests thousands of houses have been inundated 4) National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) is supporting BPBD Jakarta and NGOs to assist the affected communities. = Report on 5 February 2018 = From 5 February 2018 09.05 UTC+8, Katulampa Dam has reached 240 cm and triggered Alert Level I (the highest for flood warning level). BNPB advised people in Ciliwung River watershed to be cautions of flooding and landslide risk. The heavy rainfall that started from 4 February 2018 and increased the water volume in Ciliwung River thus caused landslide and floods in several locations in Bogor Regency, Tangerang and Jakarta Capital Region, Indonesia. In Puncak Area of Bogor Regency, there were 4 landslide locations: Attawun, Widuri, Gran Hill and Riung Gunung. Landslide block the main access road between Jakarta and Puncak Area from 5 February 2018 morning. Local disaster management agency (BPBD) Bogor, Armed Forces of Indonesia, Police and Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) are on the ground for rescue operations. Regional traffic routes between Bogor and Jakarta are also affected. BPBD Bogor is also assessing the damage on the ground. It is reported that a 20 meters bridge in Mandey, Bogor regency, washed away. The water volume of Ciliwung River also overflow and caused flooding in several locations in East and South Jakarta. In Rawajati and Kampung Arus 2-2.5 meters of floods were reported as of 22.11 UTC+7. BPBD Jakarta Capital Region and other agencies are on alert, advising and assisting population at risk to be evacuated to evacuation centers prepared since the evening of Monday, 5 February 2018. Floods are predicted to inundate riverbanks around areas of Jakarta through which the river flows, such as Srengseng Sawah, Rawajati, Kalibata, Pengadegan, East Pejaten, Kebon Baru, Bukit Duri, Balekambang, Cililitan, Chinese Bidara and Kampung Melayu. BPBD Jakarta reported an estimated of 950 people have been dispaced and total affected population reached 94400. In Tangerang, heavy rainfall also caused a landslide in South perimeter of access road to Soekarno Hatta International Airport. Two persons were trapped in a car and managed to be evacuated after 14 hours rescue efforts by Basarnas. One person injured and the other confirmed dead during treatment after rescue efforts. BMKG stated extreme weather will continue for the next three days due to LPA in eastern part of Philippines and western part of Indian Ocean.

Update as of 26 January 2018 = National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) reported: 1) In total 73 districts in 9 cities/regencies of 3 provinces (Banten, West Java and Jakarta) were affected. 2) 11 persons injured 3) 2,760 houses damaged; 291 heavy damage, 575 moderate damage, 1,894 light damage. 3a) Cianjur regency: 13 houses damaged 3b) Sukabumi regency: 1,525 houses damaged 3c) Bogor regency: 89 houses damaged 3d) Bogor city: 3 houses damaged 3e) Pandeglang regency: 8 houses damaged 3f) Lebak regency: 1,118 houses damaged 3g) Serang regency: 4 houses damaged 4) Damage on public facilities: 7 religious facilities, 2 health facilities, 17 education facilities, 6 government buildings and 63 other public facilities. 5) Official Emergency response period: 23 January to 5 February 2018. 6) BNPB continues to provide assistance. Head of BNPB Willem Rampangilei has handed over logistics assistance in the value of Rp. 302.9 million to Lebak BPBD in the form of 25 packs clothing, 20 plastic sheet rolls, 3,000 pieces of plastic bags, 5 sheet body bags, 300 school supplies packages, 160 cutlery packages, 140 recreational packages, 40 family kitchen kits, 45 packages of kids ware, 10 packages of family kit and 10 packages of family health kit. The Head of BNPB continues monitoring the impact and earthquake response in Lebak District. 7) BNPB emphasizes that the local government is the key actor for emergency response, provision of logistics for the affected people and compilation data on damaged houses and building for further immediate rehabilitation and reconstruction. = Original report = Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 13:34:53 pm, South Indian Ocean Java region rocked by tectonic earthquake. The BMKG analysis shows that the earthquake of magnitude M = 6.1 occurs with epicenter coordinates at 7.23 LS and 105.9 BT, or precisely located at sea at 43 km south of Muarabinuangeun City, Lebak District, Banten Province at depth of 61 km . The impact of earthquakes depicted by the BMKG shakemap map shows that the impact of earthquake in the form of potential shocks is felt in Jakarta, South Tangerang, Bogor, II SIG-BMKG (IV-V MMI).
