Description
Based on BNPB report, continuous rain has triggered flooding in five districts in Province Southeast Sulawesi, which were: 1. Kendari (11 municipalities affected) 2. Konawe (15 municipalities affected) 3. Konawe Selatan (15 municipalities affected) 4. Kolaka (7 municipalities affected) 5. Buton Utara IMPACT In Kendari - 1 death - 2,300 people were displaced - 263 houses and 3 bridges were damaged - 500 ha of paddy field were inundated In Konawe - 1 death - 144 families/323 people displaced - 2,868 houses were damaged - 665 ha of paddy field were inundated In Konawe Selatan - 3 death - 148 houses were destroyed - 60 houses were swept away - 57 families were displaced - 4 bridges and 3 embankments were destroyed In Kolaka - 7 houses inundated - 316 houses and 6 bridges were damaged - 361 ha of agricultural and aquacultural area were submerged In Buton Utara - 1,340 houses were submerged - 356 of agricultural area were submerged RESPONSE - The local government provided assistance such as medical service,water tank, shelter, foods, etc. - Emergency Post Command and evacuation Post have been set up. - BNPB provided nearly 70,000 USD in cash and sent (in worth of 200,000 USD) 3600 food package, 120 clothing packages, 120 kidware, 120 family kits, 500 kitchen tools, 500 blankets, 500 mats and 2 rubber boats and engines, and 5 tents for the emergency operation. - Head of Buton District (Bupati) declared emergency response period from 17 to 30 July 2013.
