➢ Chronology: On Friday, 8 May 2026, at 14:15 WITA, flooding occurred in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province, due to very heavy rainfall. The high rainfall intensity combined with prolonged duration caused flooding in several areas, with the most severely affected area being Lepo-Lepo Subdistrict in Baruga District. The flooding disrupted residents’ activities as floodwaters inundated residential areas and cut off approximately 1 kilometer of road access, with a water level of around ±100 cm.
