Description

The Cyclone Maarutha which passed over the southwestern area of Myanmar has brought heavy rainfall and strong wind to the area. The heavy rainfall and thundershower were experienced in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi regions, so as Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States. Based on media, the strong wind has caused damages to 70 houses, two medical facilities, schools and monasteries in eight villages in Yanbye Townships. Damages were also reported in Manaung Township and Kyaukpyu. The local authority, including military and police, have cleaned the debris and fallen trees. They also provided assistance to the affected families.
