According to the report of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, the total damage as of 9:00 a.m. on September 29, 2023 of 07 Central provinces (Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue) and 11 Northern provinces , heavy rains, floods, and landslides left 08 people dead or missing (Son La 03, Hoa Binh 01, Thanh Hoa 03, Quang Tri 01); 504 houses collapsed, damaged and many natural disaster prevention and control works and infrastructure were damaged.
During this flood period, the Prime Minister issued Official Telegram No. 898/CD-TTg dated September 28, 2023 directing provinces from Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue and Northern provinces to respond and overcome the consequences of rain. flood. The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has proactively issued documents directing response to floods, including 01 telegram (Official No. 11/CD-QG dated September 24), 02 documents Directive (Document No. 362/VPTT dated September 27 and No. 364/VPTT dated September 28). Dispatching 02 working groups of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control to respond and overcome consequences in Nghe An and Son La provinces.

According to a report from the Provincial Command of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Fire Fighting and Rescue of Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị, and Thừa Thiên Huế provinces, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms occurred on September 24-25, 2023, causing the following damages (VDDMA):
Human casualties: 1 person died (Quảng Trị province) due to being struck by lightning. Additionally, 6 people were injured in Thừa Thiên Huế province.
Houses: 153 houses had their roofs blown off (69 houses in Quảng Trị and 84 houses in Thừa Thiên Huế).
Transportation: Heavy rain caused flooding at several underpasses and road sections in Minh Hoá district (14 locations), Quảng Ninh district (4 locations), Tuyên Hoá district (3 locations), as well as at 3 points along National Route, resulting in the isolation of 18 hamlets in Minh Hoá and Quảng Ninh districts.
Other damages: Two high-voltage power poles were broken and toppled in Thừa Thiên Huế province. Additionally, around 2,000 fruit trees and shade trees were affected in Quảng Trị province
Moreover, VDDMA also reported flooding situation in Thanh Hoa, Da Nang and Nghe An. Data collection on the impacts and damages are ongoing
