Storms cause hundreds of landslides, people overcome storm No. 5 in Thua Thien Hue

In recent days, in Thua Thien Hue province, heavy rain has caused many roads to be flooded, many places are partially divided, and hundreds of points have been eroded. Facing the complicated situation of floods and rains, the armed forces of Thua Thien Hue province have implemented prevention plans

Phuoc Tuong village, Loc Tri commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province - one of the areas that suffered heavy damage after the storm No. 5. The family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dao (63 years old) and her son Le Phu (37 years old) ) is cleaning up what's left of the house after many years of trying to build.

This is one of dozens of landslides caused by heavy rain in Thua Thien Hue from yesterday afternoon to early this morning (October 15). However, the work of relocating people in key areas has been completed since yesterday afternoon. Mr. Le Phu, the people in this house, thanks to being mobilized to move to a safe place from yesterday afternoon, they have avoided human damage in the landslide that collapsed at midnight.

Mr. Le Phu, Loc Tri commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province confided: "After the landslide my house collapsed, the leaders of the commune government visited and encouraged my family, then there were officials. Ministries and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command, the District Military Command, the Party Committee, the government, and the communal militia came to support the family to clean up the remaining necessary items."

Flooding has caused the division and landslide of many important traffic routes in Thua Thien Hue province. In addition, due to high river water and inundation by heavy rainfall, nearly 20,000 houses were flooded with a depth of 40 - 80 cm. The work of rescue and relocation of households to a safe place was carried out by the armed forces and people of Thua Thien Hue province this night as the flood water continued to rise. Immediately after the rain stopped, the provincial government and armed forces deployed thousands of officers, soldiers and specialized forces to help people respond to natural disasters and rescue and overcome consequences for the people to soon stabilize when the disaster passes.
