Flooding (Extremely Heavy Rain in the Southern Region)
Due to the intensification of the northeast monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea, waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea will be relatively strong, causing heavy rain in many areas of the South.
Some areas have experienced very heavy rain between 17 November 2025, and present. Flooding has affected 4 provinces (Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, and Satun) with 7 districts, 26 subdistricts, and 94 villages. 5,562 households and 21,521 people have been affected. No injuries have been reported.
There have been no fatalities. The following are:
1) In Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, heavy rain has caused flooding in 1 district, 2 subdistricts, and 2 villages: Bang Saphan District:
Initially, 1 household, 4 people have been affected. Road surfaces in villages have been flooded. No injuries have been reported. No fatalities were reported. The Prachuap Khiri Khan Region 4 Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the district, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, and foundations, along with relevant agencies, surveyed the damage, assisted with lifting belongings to higher ground, and expedited drainage.
The situation has now improved. The rainfall in Bang Saphan District was 87.0 mm in 24 hours.
2) In Chumphon Province, heavy rain caused flooding in two districts, covering 12 subdistricts and 38 square meters: Lang Suan District and Thung Tako District. Initially, 467 households and 1,186 people were affected. There were no injuries or fatalities.
The Surat Thani Region 11 Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the Chumphon Highway District, the district, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, foundations, and relevant agencies surveyed the damage, installed flood warning signs, facilitated traffic flow, and expedited drainage.
The water level is currently decreasing. Rainfall in Lang Suan District in the past 24 hours is 150.0 mm.
3) Surat Thani Province experienced heavy rain, flooding homes in 3 districts, 11 sub-districts, and 52 villages in Tha Chana District, Chaiya District, and Tha Chang District. Initially, 5,034 households and 20,106 people were affected. There were no injuries or fatalities. The Surat Thani Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center Region 11, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, district officials, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, foundations, and related agencies have assessed the damage and provided initial assistance.
The water levels are currently receding. The rainfall in Don Sak District reached 343.5 mm in 24 hours.
4) Satun Province experienced heavy rain, flooding homes in 1 district, 1 sub-district, and 1 village in La-ngu District. 60 households, totaling 180 people, were affected. There were no injuries or fatalities. The Songkhla Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, Region 12, along with the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office and district officials, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers from the Village Defense Volunteers (VDV), foundation volunteers, and relevant agencies surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance.
The situation has now improved. The rainfall in Mueang District in the past 24 hours was 24.1 mm.
