Description
Due to the influence of Typhoon Kajiki, which caused heavy rain from 24 August 2025, to the present, there have been floods and landslides in 8 provinces Phrae, Lampang, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Phetchabun, Uttaradit, Loei, Nakhon Phanom, 17 districts, 44 sub-districts, 136 m2. Initially, 182 households and 652 people were affected (1 death, 10 injuries, and 1 missing person from a landslide in Chiang Mai Province).
1) Phrae Province: On 26 August, heavy rain caused flash floods in 5 districts, 23 sub-districts, and 92 m2. These areas included:
Wang Chin District (1 sub-district, 1 m2), Long District (8 sub-districts, 36 m2), Den Chai District (4 sub-districts, 19 m2), Mueang District (9 sub-districts, 28 m2), and Sung Men District (1 sub-district, 1 m2).
Preliminary damage assessments are underway. There were no injuries or fatalities. The Governor of Phrae Province, the Chiang Rai Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, the Provincial Irrigation Office, the district office, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, and volunteers from the Village Defense Volunteers Foundation, along with relevant agencies, surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance. Currently, the Yom River's water level has risen. The rainfall in Long District reached 225.5 mm in 24 hours.
2) Lampang Province: On 26 August, heavy rain caused flash floods in 2 districts, 3 sub-districts, and 13 m2: Mae Mo District (3 sub-districts, 12 m2) and Mae Tha District (1 sub-district, 1 m2). Initially, 100 households, 370 people, were affected. There were no injuries or fatalities. The Lampang Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, the Provincial Irrigation Office, the district office, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, and volunteers from the Village Defense Volunteers Foundation, along with relevant agencies, surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance. The Wang River is currently rising. The total rainfall in Ngao District is 138.5 mm in 24 hours.
3) Chiang Mai Province: On 26 August, heavy rain caused flash floods in two districts, 7 tambons, and 7 m², as follows:
Mueang District (6 tambons and 6 m²). Initial damage assessments are underway by the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, Region 10, Lampang, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the Provincial Irrigation Office, the district, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, volunteers, foundations, and relevant agencies.
The damage has been assessed and initial assistance has been provided. The situation has now improved. At 0250H on 27 August, a landslide occurred in the area. Pang Ung Village, Mae Suek Subdistrict, Mae Chaem District: Initial reports indicate five houses were damaged. There was one fatality, 10 injuries, and one person missing. The Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, along with police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, and volunteers from related agencies provided assistance and transported the injured to Khun Yuam Hospital and Mae Chaem Hospital. The search for the missing person is currently underway.
4) Mae Hong Son Province: On 26 August, heavy rain caused flash floods in three districts, four subdistricts, and eight villages:
Pang Mapha District (2 subdistricts, 4 villages), Khun Yuam District (1 subdistrict, 3 villages), and Mae Sariang District (1 subdistrict, 1 village). Initial damage assessments are underway.
There were no injuries or fatalities. Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center Region 10, Lampang, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the Provincial Irrigation Office, and the District Office.
Police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, volunteers, foundations, and related agencies surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance. Currently, the Pai River's water level is rising. The rainfall in Mueang District is 137.0 mm.
5) Phetchabun Province: On 26 August, heavy rain caused flash floods in 2 districts, 2 sub-districts, and 3 square meters:
Nong Phai District (1 sub-district, 1 square meter) and Lom Kao District (1 sub-district, 2 square meters). Initially, 15 households and 56 people were affected.
There were no injuries or fatalities. Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center Region 9, Phitsanulok, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the Provincial Irrigation Office, and the District Office.
Police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, defense volunteers, foundations, and related agencies surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance. The Pa Sak River's water level is currently rising. The rainfall in Nong Phai District is 97.5 mm in the past 24 hours.
6) In Uttaradit Province, on 26 August, heavy rain caused flash floods in 1 district, 3 sub-districts, and 11 m2, as follows:
Tha Pla District (3 sub-districts and 11 m2). Initially, 16 households and 59 people were affected. There were no injuries or fatalities. The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, Region 9, Phitsanulok, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the Provincial Irrigation Office, the district, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, volunteers, foundations, and related agencies have assessed the damage and provided initial assistance.
The Nan River is currently rising. The 24-hour rainfall in Fak Tha District is 122.0 mm.
7) Loei Province: On 26 August, heavy rain caused flash floods in 1 district, 1 sub-district, and 1 rai of land as follows:
Na Haeo District (1 sub-district, 1 rai). Initially, 26 households and 74 people were affected. There were no injuries or fatalities. The Governor of Loei Province, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center Region 14, Udon Thani, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the Provincial Irrigation Office, the district, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, volunteers, foundations, and related agencies surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance. The Loei River's water level is currently rising. The rainfall in Mueang District is 97.5 mm in 24 hours.
8) Nakhon Phanom Province: On 26 August, heavy rain caused flash floods in 1 district, 1 sub-district, and 1 rai of land as follows:
That Phanom District (1 sub-district, 1 rai): Initially, 20 households and 74 people were affected. There were no injuries or fatalities. Sakon Nakhon's Region 7 Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the Provincial Irrigation Office, the district police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, volunteers, foundation volunteers, and related agencies have assessed the damage and provided initial assistance.
The Mekong River is currently rising. The total rainfall in Na Kae District is 75.5 mm.
