Description
Tropical Storm NAKRI (local name QUIEL) begins to move southward over the South China Sea. At 1100 (UTC+7), 8 November 2019, the center of the storm was estimated based on all available data at 430 km West of Coron, Palawan, Philippines (12.7 °N, 116.3 °E) and may develop to Category 1 Typhoon by tomorrow, 9 November 2019. The NDRRMC reported on 8 November 2019 that continuous rains brought by the storm resulted to 3 landslide incidents that occurred on 5 and 7 November 2019 in northern Luzon, Philippines, killing 1 person. 8 roads and 5 bridges are currently un-passable. As of 11 November, TD NAKRI already weakened into a tropical depression, location was about 13.1 degrees North; 108.9 degrees of Kinh Dong, right on the mainland of Southern Central provinces of Viet Nam. The strongest wind near the center is about 40-50 kph. It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours it will move mainly in the Northwest moving at 10 kph, will bring moderate to heavy rains as it goes inland and weaken into a low pressure area in Cambodia.
