21 July 2023
At 8:00 AM, the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) east of Southeastern Luzon developed into Tropical Depression (TD) "EGAY".
22 July 2023
At 8:00 AM, "EGAY" intensified into a Tropical Storm (TS) as it moved westward over the Philippine Sea.
At 11:00 PM, "EGAY" maintained its strength while slowly moving westward. In addition, "EGAY" was forecast to enhance
the Southwest Monsoon and bring occasional to monsoon rains over several areas of the country.
23 July 2023
At 8:00 AM, EGAY intensified to a Severe Tropical Storm category while moving westward.
At 11:00 PM, EGAY intensified into a Typhoon over the Philippine Sea East Northeast of the Bicol Peninsula.
24 July 2023
By 5:00 AM, Typhoon “EGAY” had undergone rapid intensification as it moves over the Philippine Sea.
By 11:00 PM, Typhoon “EGAY” continues to intensify over the Philippine Sea east of northern Aurora.
25 July 2023
At 5:00 AM, EGAY intensified into a Super Typhoon as it continues to threaten Northern Luzon.
At 2:00 PM, TCWS No. 5 was hoisted over the eastern portion of Babuyan Islands (Camiguin
Island)
At 8;00 PM, EGAY weakened into a Typhoon.
At 11:00 PM, TCWS No. 5 was no longer in effect. However, violent conditions were starting over the eastern portion of
Babuyan Islands as Typhoon EGAY moves over the coastal waters of Calayan, Cagayan.
26 July 2023
At 2:00 AM, violent conditions continue over Babuyan Islands as Typhoon EGAY passes north of Camiguin Island.
At 3:10 AM, the center of the eye of Typhoon EGAY made landfall in the vicinity of Fuga Island, Aparri, Cagayan.
At 9:30 AM, EGAY made landfall over Dalupiri Island.
At 11:00 PM, EGAY slightly weakened as it moved west-northwestward over the waters of Batanes.
27 July 2023
At 5:00 AM, Typhoon EGAY weakened over the Luzon Strait west of Batanes.
At 11:00 AM, the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) east of eastern Visayas developed into a Tropical Depression (TD) outside
the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
28 July 2023
At 5:00 AM, the TD outside PAR intensified into Tropical Storm (TS) “KHANUN”.
At 8:00 AM, Typhoon EGAY exits PAR.
At 5:00 PM, Typhoon EGAY maintained its strength as it moved west-northwestward away from PAR.
At 11:00 PM, EGAY was already entering the Taiwan Strait. All Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals have been lifted. While TS
“KHANUN” maintained its strength and had approached the PAR.
29 July 2023
At 5:00 AM, TS “KHANUN” entered the PAR and was named FALCON.
At 11:00 AM, TS FALCON further intensified over the Philippine Sea.
30 July 2023
At 5:00 AM, FALCON intensified into a Severe Tropical Storm (STS).
At 11:00 PM, FALCON intensified into a Typhoon (TY) as it continued to move over the Philippine Sea.
31 July 2023
At 5:00 AM, FALCON further intensified while moving north-northwestward.
01 August 2023
At 5:00 PM, Typhoon "FALCON" was located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
EGAY made landfall on 26 July 2023 in the following areas:
At 3:10 AM - Fuga Island, Aparri, Cagayan.
At 9:30 AM - Dalupiri Island.
Southwest Monsoon
The Southwest Monsoon was enhanced by "EGAY" from 22 to 28 July and by "FALCON" from 29 July to 03 August and
brought significant amount of rains to different parts of the country.
On 04 August 2023, the effect of Southwest Monsoon has weakened.
