Description

Glide: TC-2013-000120-PHL Typhoon “Odette” (international name USAGI) neared supertyphoon level as it gained more strength midday Friday and moved closer towards extreme Northern Luzon. The typhoon is packed with maximum sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour near the center and wind gusts of up to 240 kph. This typhoon will bring 10 to 20 mm rainfall per hour (considered heavy to intense) near the centre and will continue to enhance SW Monsoon that bring rainfall to Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas. This Typhoon initially caused flooding in Region 3 at Barangay Salomague, Panique and Tarlaq. Due to amount of rainfall brought and enhanced by this Typhoon there are several incidents (flood, landslide and tornado) occured in the following region: Region I, III, IV-A, IV-B, V, VI and CAR This effect of Typhoon has caused the following impacts: 16,555 families or 73,063 persons were affected 12,878 families or 56,172 persons were displaced 3 death 2 missing 417 houses damaged The whole province of Ilocos Norte has been declared under state of calamity NDRRMC and other related government entities have been conducting necessary preparedness and response measures
