Description

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported flooding in Davao as an effect of the Tail End of a Cold Front. Based on the sitrep no.10, the incident brought impact to the 17 municipalities and 4 cities in the Region XI, XII and CARAGA where 30,706 families/71,428 were directly affected by the flooding. The government provided 62 evacuation centers to help 53,748 evacuees or 13,548 families. The casualties were 10 death, 8 injured and 3 missing. Further, damage houses were 37 units (severe) and 241 units (partial). 1 bridge and 5 roads were impassable. 15 Barangays in Davao City were placed under the state of calamity. At the regional and the local level, rescue and assistance have been provided to the affected community by the responsible institution. Weather bulletin and advisory has been also continuously disseminated to prevent further losses. The estimated cost of damage was 2.7 million USD and the cost of assistance was 129,000 USD.
