Description
Local disaster management agency (BPBD) of Tasikmalaya regency and Health Crisis Centre (Ministry of Health) reported a landslide on 6 September 2018 0730 hrs local time. The most affected area is at Karang Mukti Village, Salawu District. The landslide was caused by intense rainfall from the previous night exposing loose soil affected by dry season. It was reported that the landslide height was around six meters. A total of 24 people were directly affected in the path of the landslide. Two houses were damaged, of which in one of them an elderly couple were trapped for several hours. Another six houses were lightly damaged, and at risk for future landslide if soil movement occurs. BPBD Tasikmalaya regency has rescued all victims and provided necessary relief items.
