Description
On 19 July 2026, a landslide occurred in Barangay Mapagong, City of Calamba,
Laguna, as a result of continuous heavy rainfall brought about by the enhanced
Southwest Monsoon. The prolonged rainfall saturated the soil, triggering the slope
failure and causing the landslide.
In response, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, through DSWD
Field Office CALABARZON, in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of
City of Calamba, provided immediate support to the affected families and individuals.
