Description
In West Java, a landslide disaster was also reported in Ciamis Regency, precisely in Panawangan District, on Sunday (6/4), due to high intensity rain. This incident affected two villages, namely Mekarbuana and Sadapaingan. A total of 12 families (28 people) were directly affected, 81 families (206 people) were threatened, and 59 families (155 people) fled to two evacuation points.
Although conditions are slowly recovering, a number of residents are still displaced and the government continues to provide support for post-disaster recovery. The latest conditions as of Tuesday (8/4/2025) show that the situation is starting to be under control. Village road access has been reopened with the help of heavy equipment. Some residents who had been displaced have started to return to their homes, except for those whose homes were severely damaged. Residents' activities are slowly returning to normal.
The Ciamis Regency BPBD is still providing logistical support, public kitchen services, and continues to monitor conditions with volunteers and local officials. Residents are asked to remain vigilant because the potential for extreme weather will continue until the end of May 2025, according to the Disaster Emergency Alert status set by the Ciamis Regent.
