JAKARTA - As many as 56 residents were displaced due to damage to their houses due to landslides in Ciradas Village, Sukaresmi Village, Cikarang Selatan District, Bekasi Regency, on Saturday (17/4) night.
Landslides have occurred due to the high intensity of rain since the last week accompanied by unstable soil conditions. In the beginning, the ground cracked at the scene, further aggravated by continuous rain until its peak on Saturday (17/4) evening at 9:45 p.m. the land collapsed causing dozens of residents' houses to be severely damaged.
According to the report by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bekasi District, there were no fatalities in this incident, but at least 15 houses were severely damaged and 5 houses were slightly damaged, while 15 heads of families were affected and 56 people fled to relatives' homes.
The West Java Provincial BPBD coordinates with the Bekasi District BPBD, Village and Sub-district officials to collect data and evacuate the location of the incident as well as distribute aid to affected victims.
The latest condition on Monday (19/4) afternoon, the area is still vulnerable because the land is still moving. Residents are asked to remain alert and alert in the event of a further disaster.
