Description
Flooding is reported from Maluku Tengah, Maluku Province due to the collapsed dam of Way Ela. The Way Ela dam cannot sustain the increasing water volume due to the continuous rain. This condition has been observed since 1 July. The local authority has also alerted the residents as the level has significantly increased on 17 July. IMPACT - 3 missing - 32 injured - 5,234 people were displaced - 470 houses swept away - 8 public facilities and 1 bridge were severely damaged RESPONSE - BNPB sent 1250 food packages, 1250 clothing packages, 1250 kidware, 1250 family kits, 20 tents, 500 roll tents, 304 kitchen tools and 500 mosquito nets. - BPBD Maluku has set up 1 evacuation centre 1 week prior to the incident.
