➢ Chronology: Triggered by moderate to heavy rainfall that occurred in the West Seram Regency area on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 08.00 WIT to 12.30 WIT resulting in the collapse of the emergency embankment in Air Pesi hamlet due to the collapse of trees that blocked the flow of water in the river, causing flooding to inundate residents' houses around Telaga Namaola.
➢ Location: (2 Districts / 2 Villages) ● Huamual Belakang District - North Buano Village ● West Seram District - Piru Village
➢ Casualties: ● ± 177 families affected ➢ Material Losses: ● ± 177 houses affected (data collection) ➢ Efforts: ● BPBD Kab. West Seram is currently coordinating with the hamlet and village governments. ● The West Seram Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) is coordinating further with the Technical OPD (PUPR Department) regarding the emergency response to repair the breached embankment infrastructure. ● The West Seram Regency BPBD is reporting on the emergency response measures taken.
