Description
According to a preliminary report, as of October 15, 2026, five cities and districts in Oddar Meanchey province have been affected or damaged by floodwaters, spanning 23 communes/sangkats and 136 villages. Specifically, 3,804 hectares of rice crops—involving 2,913 families—have been affected. Additionally, infrastructure such as bridges, roads, schools, hospitals, and pagodas has also sustained damage.

H.E. Kitti Sangaha Bandit Kun Kim instructed relevant departments to collaborate with the administrations of the affected cities and districts to promptly assess damage to rice crops, in order to consider the provision of seeds for recovery efforts. H.E. Kitti Sangaha Bandit Kun Kim emphasized that this assessment is crucial for gathering information to guide decision-making, prioritize assistance, and request necessary resources—utilizing the mechanism of the Cambodia Food Reserve System—to address the needs of the affected citizens.
Furthermore, H.E. Kitti Sangaha Bandit Kun Kim underscored the importance of taking measures to support farmers' rice crops, storing water to mitigate potential future droughts caused by the El Niño phenomenon, and maintaining a state of readiness to provide ongoing intervention and support to farmers.
