Description
According to the Report of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Ha Giang province, heavy rain and landslides on July 12-13, 2024 caused damage:
- Regarding people: On the morning of July 13, 2024, a landslide occurred on a passenger bus traveling on National Highway 34 in Ta Mo village, Yen Dinh commune, Bac Me district, Ha Giang province, killing 11 people, 01 person missing, 04 people injured (identities of the dead and injured have been identified).
- Regarding housing: 46 houses were damaged.
- Regarding agriculture: 20.02 hectares of rice and crops were damaged; 2.7 hectares of forestry trees.
- Regarding livestock: 02 cattle and 43 poultry died.
- Regarding aquaculture: 0.224 hectares of fish ponds were damaged; over 1.5 tons of sturgeon were swept away.
- Regarding irrigation: 07 canals were damaged.
- Regarding education: 01 kindergarten had its wall collapsed.
- Regarding traffic: Landslide on National Highway 34 with a length of about 150m, estimated at 21,000m3 ; 11 locations of provincial roads were eroded with 2,800m3 of soil and rock; 58 locations of district, inter-commune, and inter-village roads were eroded with 2,200m3 and 01 spillway was washed away.
Estimated damage 6.5 billion VND.
Immediately after the disaster, local authorities mobilized functional forces to urgently search for victims, visit, share and encourage victims and their families; overcome the consequences; set up barriers and warning signs in landslide areas and areas at high risk of landslides.
