Description
The Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control of Viet Nam reported flood and landslides in the coastal areas of Viet Nam which caused by the torrential rains since Monday, 3 September 2012. Based on the Central Committee for Flood and Storm Control (CCFSC), the casualties were 15 death and 15 injured. 183 houses were swept away. Furthermore, the flood has also submerged 9,670 houses, 35,083 hectares of rice field, 14,726 hectares of crop area and 3,083 hectares of aquaculture area. The Central-Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Centre has forecast intense rain in the north central region over the weekend that may trigger flash flood and landslide.
