Description

The influence of Storm "Wipha," which has been moving along the monsoon trough passing through northern Laos and northern Thailand, has caused significant impacts in several areas.



From 21 July 2015 to the present, 10 provinces have been affected, namely Nan, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Lampang, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Phrae, Sukhothai, Tak, and Loei. The impact spans across 59 districts, 279 subdistricts, and 1,481 villages, affecting a total of 35,896 households or approximately 118,951 people.



There have been two reported casualties:



One person is missing — a male who was swept away by floodwaters in Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province.



One fatality — a female resident of Mueang District, Phrae Province, who fell into floodwaters from the second floor of her home while attempting to close a door on the first floor.



As of now, the situation remains ongoing in five provinces: Nan, Chiang Rai, Phrae, Sukhothai, and Tak. The current impact covers 24 districts, 115 subdistricts, and 461 villages, with 24,505 households or 79,942 people still affected.
