Philippines, Floods, Landslides, and Strong Winds in Region XII

On 15 May 2025, at 5:00 PM, a moderate to heavy rainfall brought by the Intertropical

Convergence Zone (ITCZ) occurred in the Municipality of Alamada, Province of Cotabato.

This resulted in flashfloods and landslides in some barangays of Alamada.

On May 18, 2025, at around 01:00 AM, the Municipality of Alabel, Sarangani experienced
heavy rainfall brought by Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
On May 18, 2025, at around 04:00 PM, the Municipality of Tantangan, South Cotabato
also experienced heavy rainfall brought by Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
On May 20, 2025, at around 02:30 PM, the Municipality of Malapatan, Sarangani
experienced continuous heavy rainfall brought Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)
which resulted to flooding incident in Brgy. Tuyan.

On May 20, 2025, a drowning incident transpired in Brgy. Mapurok, Alamada, Province of
Cotabato, attributed to ITCZ. The said victim was crossing the river, and was swept away
due to the strong current.
On May 22, 2025 at around 5PM, 2 brgys of Maitum, Sarangani Province, experienced
moderate to heavy rainfall brought about by ITCZ resulting to flashflood.
On May 22-23, 2025 at around 08:50 pm, Brgy Limuhay, Basag, Langgal and Kuden all
of Sen. Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat Province experienced heavy rainfall brought about
by ITCZ resulting to flashflood and landslide.
On May 23, 2025 at around 8:30 am, Brgy Poblacion, Carmen, Cotabato Province
experienced heavy rainfall brought about by ITCZ resulting to flashflood.
On May 23, 2025 at around 12:00 pm, Brgy Takepan, Ginatilan, Calawag, and Ladtingan
all of Pikit, Cotabato Province experienced heavy rainfall brought about by ITCZ resulting
to flashflood.
On May 23, 2025 at around 03:00 pm, Brgy Salaman and Pasandalan all of Lebak,
Sultan Kudarat Province experienced heavy rainfall brought about by ITCZ resulting to
flashflood.
On May 23, 2025 at around 06:00 pm, Brgy Cadiz, Obial, Limulanan and Sangay all of
Lebak, Sultan Kudarat Province experienced heavy rainfall brought about by ITCZ
resulting to flashflood.
