Description
On 17 Dec 2023, 5:00 AM, the LPA located east of Surigao del Sur developed into TD "KABAYAN". Meanwhile, the
Shear Line was forecast to bring significant amounts of rain in Bicol Region and Quezon Province.
On 17 Dec 2023, 11:00 PM, “KABAYAN” intensified into a Tropical Storm. The highest signal raised was TCWS No. 2
over Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, the northern portion of Agusan del Norte, the eastern portion of
Agusan del Sur, and the northern portion of Davao Oriental. Meanwhile, TCWS No. 01 was raised over some portions of
Visayas and Mindanao.
On 18 Dec 2023, 9:30 AM, “KABAYAN” made landfall over Manay, Davao Oriental. Later at 11:00 AM, “KABAYAN”
weakened into a Tropical Depression and further weakened into an LPA at 2:30 PM.
On 20 Dec 2023, the LPA (formerly "KABAYAN") was forecast to exit PAR. However, the Shear Line was still forecast to
bring significant amount of rains in the next 3 days.
