Description

At 4:00 PM, 20 July 2012, the Active Low Pressure Area east of Tuguegarao City developed into a Tropical Depression (TD) and was named “FERDIE” and the center was estimated at 130 km East of Aparri, Cagayan moving towards Extreme Northen Luzon. As of 4:00 AM, 21 July 2012 TD FERDIE was at 80 km Northwest of Aparri, Cagayan moving West Northwest. At 1:30 PM, TD “FERDIE” accelerated as it continued to traverse Balintang Channel, merged with Low Pressure Area over the West Philippine Sea. TD “FERDIE” exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 10:00 PM 21 July 2012. The center was located at 350 km West Northwest of Laoag City and moving West Northwest. 4 deaths, 3 missing, 2 rescued, 21 incidents occurred in various regionsm (1 collapsed structure, 1 soil erosion, 1 drowning, 8 floods, 1 rise in sea level, 1 tornado and 4 Sea Mishap).
