Description
Typhoon GONI or Ineng has entered the Philippines on 18 August 2015 and exited on 23 August 2015. GONI has affected the northern Luzon with wind sustained up to 160 kph. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has reported flooding and landslide occurrence in Region I, II, III,IV-A, IV-B and CAR. IMPACT - 21 death, 23 injured and 15 missing. - 23,965 families/ 102,488 people were evacuated in Region I, II, IV-A, IV-B and CAR. - 11,115 people stayed inside evacuation centre. - 1,638 houses were damaged. - Cost of damages is estimated to be USD 10 million. RESPONSE - The Government have conducted pre-emptive evacuation. - SAR and damage assessment are being undertaken.
