Heavy rainfall recorded in South Minahasa Regency on 9 February 2018, 17.00 UTC+8, caused floods and landslides. It affected four districts in the regency, i.e. Suluun Tareran, Tareran, Sinonsayang, Amurang Barat. Around 30 families have been displaced.
The most critical impact was landslide affecting Trans Sulawesi Road, which closed due to two meters height of landslide material along 300 meters of the road. This caused the Trans Sulawesi to be temporarily closed down.
In addition 25 houses were damaged due to 1.5 meters of flooding.
Local Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) mobilized 4 heavy machinery to clear off landslide materials.
