According to reports from the provinces of Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, and Quang Ninh, heavy rain from the evening of May 18th to May 19th caused the following damage:
- Regarding homes: 35 houses were damaged, with roofs blown off (33 in Tuyen Quang and 2 in Dien Bien).
- Regarding agriculture: 97.6 hectares of rice and other crops were flooded and damaged (Thai Nguyen 10.64 hectares; Tuyen Quang 1.34 hectares; Quang Ninh 85.68 hectares).
- Regarding education and other infrastructure: Two schools and one market were affected by landslides in Tuyen Quang province.
- Regarding livestock: 10 head of cattle and 315 head of poultry were killed or swept away.
- Regarding aquaculture: 28,751 sturgeon were swept away and lost (21,000 in Quang Ninh and 7,751 in Tuyen Quang).
- Regarding transportation: Landslides occurred on several rural roads in the communes of Nam Dan, Khuon Lu, Nam Dich, Kien Thiet, Ho Thau, and Linh Ho (Tuyen Quang province); in the communes of Cam Giang and Phu Thong (Thai Nguyen province); and some roads in Mong Duong ward (Quang Ninh province) were flooded.
- Regarding flooding: 115 households in Mong Duong ward, Quang Ninh province, who were evacuated due to flooding, have returned home.
- Estimated damage value: 6.5 billion VND (Tuyen Quang 5 billion VND, Quang Ninh 1.5 billion VND).
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities mobilized forces and resources to assist people in overcoming the damage; organized patrols and placed warning signs at flooded areas; cleared traffic routes and continued to compile and statistically record the damage.
