1. Damage caused by heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and hail.
According to preliminary reports from the provinces and cities of Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, and Dong Nai, heavy rains from June 15-16, 2026 caused the following damage:
- Regarding casualties: 01 person died due to a falling tree collapsing a hut (Mr. Dieu Brong, born in 1960, residing in Hamlet 3, Phu Nghia Commune).
- Regarding housing: 47 houses were damaged or had their roofs blown off (1 house in Cao Bang, 40 houses in Thai Nguyen, and 6 houses in Dong Nai).
- Regarding agriculture: 122 hectares of rice, crops, and other plants were flooded and damaged (Cao Bang 12.6 hectares, Thai Nguyen 36.4 hectares, Dong Nai 73 hectares).
- Regarding transportation: One location on National Highway 4A (Cao Bang province) was flooded, and landslides occurred in many locations on inter-village roads in Cao Bang and Thai Nguyen provinces.
- Other structures: 01 medical facility affected, 03 irrigation structures damaged by landslides.
2. Damage caused by riverbank erosion.
According to a quick report from Tam Giang commune and the Ca Mau provincial emergency response team, from the night of June 16th to June 17th, 2026, three riverbank landslides occurred in Tam Giang commune, affecting and damaging 27 houses.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities organized visits and provided assistance to affected families; mobilized forces to help people overcome the consequences and quickly stabilize their lives.
According to a preliminary report from the Hue City Department of Water Resources and Climate Change, the thunderstorms from June 17-18, 2026 caused the following damage:
- Regarding injuries: 1 person was injured.
- Regarding housing: 18 houses were damaged, with roofs blown off.
- Regarding agriculture: 30 hectares of fruit trees and 112 other trees were damaged or broken.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities organized and mobilized forces to assist people in overcoming the consequences, continuing to inspect and compile statistics on the damage, and quickly stabilizing their lives.
