Description
1. Damage caused by heavy rain
According to the Quick Report of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control in Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Yen Bai and Cao Bang provinces, on May 30-31, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and tornadoes caused the following damage:
- 03 people died due to being swept away by floods (Mr. Hau A Tuc was born in 2001, Mr. Hau Thi Mo was born in 2012 and Mr. Nguyen Van Huy was born in 1983 in Van Ban district, Lao Cai province).
- 41 houses were damaged and had their roofs blown off (Lao Cai: 35, Yen Bai: 02, Cao Bang: 04).
- 89.8 hectares of rice and crops were damaged and damaged (Lao Cai: 08; Dien Bien: 17.8; Yen Bai: 55.7; Cao Bang: 8.3).
- 156 cattle and poultry died (Yen Bai).
- 2,500 m3 of soil and rock collapsed (Lao Cai); 01 bridge was damaged (Yen Bai).
- 02 schools were damaged and had their roofs blown off (Lao Cai: 01, Yen Bai: 01).
2. Damage caused by landslides
According to the Quick Report of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Can Tho City, on May 29-31, river bank landslides with a total length of 146m occurred in Binh Thuy and Thot Not districts, affecting 14 houses.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities mobilized forces and vehicles at the facility to overcome the consequences, clear traffic routes and organize visits, encouragement and support for the victims' families.
