According to initial reports from the provinces and cities of Lao Cai, Son La, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, as of 06:30/30/9, storm No. 10 and floods, landslides, and whirlwinds have caused the following damages:
- Regarding people: 19 people died (Son La: 01 person due to landslide; Lang Son: 01 person due to landslide; Hung Yen: 02 people due to storms and whirlwinds; Ninh Binh: 09 people due to storms and whirlwinds; Nghe An: 01 person drowned; Hue: 01 person swept away by water; Thanh Hoa: 02 people due to falling trees and collapsed houses; Ha Tinh: 01 person fell while repairing a house; Da Nang: 01 person died because the body of a person swept away by flood was found); 13 people are missing (Son La: 01 person; Quang Tri: 12 people); 92 people were injured (Lao Cai: 02, Quang Ninh: 09, Hai Phong: 09, Hung Yen: 11, Ninh Binh: 30, Thanh Hoa: 02, Nghe An: 03, Ha Tinh: 15, Quang Tri: 10, Hue City: 01).
- Lost contact with 8 people in Gia Lai: Ship BD 97258 TS/ 08 workers lost contact with their families at 20:13 on September 27, in an area about 110 nautical miles off the coast of Gia Lai.
- Regarding houses: 122,874 houses were damaged, roofs were blown off (Lao Cai 249 houses, Son La 12 houses, Phu Tho 20 houses, Tuyen Quang 202 houses, Lang Son 31 houses, Cao Bang 97 houses, Thai Nguyen 10 houses, Quang Ninh 15 houses, Hai Phong 235 houses, Hung Yen 300 houses, Ninh Binh 1,204 houses, Thanh Hoa 955 houses, Nghe An 37,209 houses, Ha Tinh 78,842 houses, Quang Tri 3,396 houses, Hue 91 houses); 3,371 houses were flooded (Thanh Hoa 17 houses, Nghe An 2,244 houses, Ha Tinh 1,107 houses, Quang Tri 18 houses); as of 05:00/9/30, 1,426 households were isolated and cut off in Ha Tinh.
- Regarding agriculture: 22,578 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and damaged (Lao Cai 180 hectares, Son La 23 hectares, Phu Tho 191 hectares, Tuyen Quang 171 hectares, Cao Bang 81 hectares, Thai Nguyen 5 hectares, Hai Phong 947 hectares, Hung Yen 870 hectares, Thanh Hoa 6,703 hectares, Nghe An 8,224 hectares, Ha Tinh 1,552 hectares, Quang Tri 445 hectares, Da Nang 37 hectares).
- Regarding dikes: 15 dike incidents have occurred:
+ In Ninh Binh province (01 incident) Hai Thinh 3 sea dike at K25+570, about 75m long. Local authorities are handling the first hour.
+ Thanh Hoa province (06 incidents): landslide, dike foot collapse on the river side section K54+820-K54+980 right dike of Ma river, Quang Phu ward, 160m long (the incident occurred due to storm No. 5 and further developed); overflow of the right dike of Quang Phu in Xuan Tin commune; overflow of the right dike of Thi Long causing a dike section to break at a weak position from K0+350-K0+370 about 20m long; water leakage through the dike slope on the left dike of Hoat K5+345-K6+760, Ha Long commune; landslide of the river side dike slope from K14+850-K14+900 left dike of Chu river, 50m long; landslide of the river side dike slope in sections from K2+280-K2+300, K2+385-K2+400, K5+330-K5+350 left dike of Chu river, Tho Lap commune, total length about 55m. Local authorities have handled the first hour of incidents.
+ Nghe An Province (02 incidents): subsidence of the dike slope on the sea side of Quynh Long dike, Minh Thanh village, about 10m long; landslide of the West Mo river dike, Quynh Anh commune, about 40m long. The locality handled the first hour and organized to monitor the incident's developments.
+ Ha Tinh province (04 incidents): Cam Nhuong embankment at location K1+250-K1+260, Thien Cam commune, had its reinforced roof collapsed by waves; Ta Nghen embankment sections from K41+790-K41+860, K43+610-K43+660, Mai Phu commune, had subsidence and the embankment roof was loosened (the incident occurred due to storm No. 5); Huu Phu embankment section from K19+800-K22+800, Thach Khe commune, had subsidence and the embankment roof was loosened (the incident occurred due to storm No. 5); Hoi Thong sea dike section from K12+500-K12+900 had its reinforced part collapsed after storm No. 5. Currently, the locality has handled the first hour of the incidents.
+ Quang Tri Province (02 incidents): Vinh Thai sea dike at K1+500, Vinh Hoang commune, had its dike roof eroded by waves, about 20m long; Ben Hai river mouth dike at K0+180, Cua Tung commune, the riverside dike roof was eroded, about 8m long, 5m wide, 2.5m deep into the dike body. The locality handled the first hour and organized to monitor the incident's developments.
- Aquaculture: 1,769 hectares of aquaculture were damaged (Hung Yen 43 hectares, Ninh Binh 55 hectares, Thanh Hoa 35 hectares, Nghe An 1,066 hectares, Ha Tinh 364 hectares, Quang Tri 205 hectares).
- Flooding and traffic jams at 163 underground overflow points on national highways in the provinces of Son La, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, and Da Nang; flooding and landslides on some provincial and rural roads caused traffic jams.
- Landslide of 6,410m of embankment, river bank, and seashore (Thanh Hoa 60m, Nghe An 50m; Quang Tri 3,300m; Hue 3,000m).
- Roofing of 65,000m2 of factory and office roof in Vung Ang economic zone, Ha Tinh province.
- Regarding electricity: 5,590 electric poles were broken or felled (concentrated in Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh); currently Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Tri provinces are experiencing widespread power outages.
- Regarding trees: 51,219 trees were broken (concentrated in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh).
Localities are continuing to review, compile damage data and organize remediation.

Initial damage caused by storm No. 10 and floods in the provinces and cities of Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai (as of 08:00/29/9) is as follows:
- Lost contact with 17 people (09 people in Quang Tri, 08 people in Gia Lai):
+ At 11:30 p.m. on September 28, on the North bank of Gianh River, near Gianh Bridge, Bac Gianh Ward, Quang Tri Province, fishing boats BV 92756 TS and BV 92754 TS with 13 people anchored in the above area; after storm No. 10 passed, the crew boarded the boat to start the engine for technical inspection; due to strong currents and strong winds, the anchor broke and they drifted; 4 people swam to shore, while 9 people and 2 fishing boats have no information or current location.
+ Ship BD 97258 TS/ 08 workers lost contact with their families at 20:13 on September 27, in an area about 110 nautical miles off the coast of Gia Lai (13 0 04'N - 111 0 41'E); at 20:45 on September 28, the family reported to the Border Guard.
- Regarding people: 02 people died (Hue City: 01 person slipped and was swept away by the water on the evening of September 27, the body was found on September 28; Thanh Hoa: 01 person was killed by a falling tree on the morning of September 29); 04 people are missing (Quang Tri: 03 people in Cua Viet and Kim Phu commune; Da Nang: 01 person in Kham Duc commune); 02 people were injured (Quang Tri, Hue). Currently, localities are continuing to verify specific information for these cases.
- Regarding houses: 245 houses were damaged, roofs were blown off (Nghe An 141 houses, Ha Tinh 03 houses, Quang Tri 12 houses, Hue 89 houses); 19 houses were flooded in Ha Tinh province.
- Regarding agriculture: 1,387.6 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and damaged (Nghe An 1,326.3 hectares, Quang Tri 24.3 hectares, Da Nang 37 hectares).
- About dikes:
(1) In Ninh Binh province: Hai Thinh 3 sea dike was hit by waves, causing the roof structure to fall off, causing a landslide of about 20m long and 15m wide. The locality handled the situation in the first hour (arranging rock cages and rocks at the collapsed area).
(2) In Ha Tinh province: Cam Nhuong embankment was hit by waves and collapsed, the roof reinforced with structural components (preliminary determination of about 50m long). The locality handled the first hour (arranging rock cages and rocks at the collapsed area).
(3) In Quang Tri province: Vinh Thai sea dike was hit by waves and had a slope of about 20m long. Local authorities have handled the situation in the first hour (arranging sandbags, boulders, and stone cages at the collapsed area); Ben Hai river mouth dike: many positions on the river side of the slope were eroded. Local authorities are currently monitoring the incident.
- Aquaculture: 52.0 hectares of aquaculture were damaged (Nghe An 33.2 hectares, Quang Tri 17.8 hectares, Da Nang 01 hectare).
- Aviation: 42 flights canceled, 51 flights delayed (at Da Nang, Phu Bai, Dong Hoi, Tho Xuan airports).
- Flooding and traffic jams at 05 overflow points on National Highways (Ha Tinh: 01 point at National Highway 8C; Quang Tri: 04 points at National Highways 15D, 49C, 9B); flooding of some provincial roads, traffic difficulties in Hue City and landslides and flooding at some overflow points on rural roads in Ha Tinh and Quang Tri; 05 locations on National Highway 40B in Da Nang, 09 traffic points in Nghe An were eroded and damaged; 14 provincial roads were flooded and jammed in Thanh Hoa,...
- Landslide of 485m of embankment and river bank (Nghe An 150m; Quang Tri 330m; Da Nang 5m).
Currently, localities are reviewing statistics and assessing damage.
In addition, on September 28, in Cao Bang province, heavy rain, accompanied by whirlwinds and hail, caused: 07 houses' roofs to be blown off; 2.53 hectares of rice and crops to be broken; 01 electric pole to be broken; 01 kindergarten and 01 cultural house to have their roofs blown off./.
