Viet Nam, Storms and Tornado in Tran Van Thoi (Ca Mau)

On July 9, according to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tran Van Thoi district (Ca Mau province), a tornado had just occurred in this district, knocking down and tearing off the roofs of hundreds of houses.

Accordingly, a thunderstorm occurred on the evening of July 8, causing 209 people's houses to collapse and roofs off. The initial damage estimate was more than 850 million VND. In which, the two most affected localities are Phong Dien commune and Song Doc town.

In addition, the functional sector also made preliminary statistics that more than 344 hectares of summer-autumn rice collapsed and many large trees were broken.

Immediately after the incident, the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district directed the localities affected by the storm to urgently send forces directly to the scene to visit, encourage and support people to overcome the consequences.
