Thailand, Flooding and Landslides in Lampang, Tak, and Chiang Rai

1) Lampang Province



➢ Chronology: On 28 May 2026 at 22:00 hrs, heavy rainfall caused flash flooding and inundation in 1 district, 2 sub-districts, and 7 villages in Hang Chat District. A total of 187 households were affected. No injuries or fatalities were reported. The Lampang Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM), district authorities, police officers, local administrative organisations, volunteers, and relevant agencies provided assistance and expedited drainage operations. The situation has since returned to normal.

2) Tak Province



➢ Chronology: On 28 May 2026 at 19:30 hrs, heavy rainfall caused flash flooding and inundation in 1 district, 1 sub-district, and 1 village in Phop Phra District. A total of 2 households were affected. No injuries or fatalities were reported. The Tak Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM), district authorities, police officers, local administrative organisations, volunteers, and relevant agencies provided assistance and expedited drainage operations. The situation has since returned to normal.

3. Chiang Rai Province

➢ Chronology: On 28 May 2026 at 16:50 hrs, a landslide occurred near a stream in the forest area of Ban Saen Mai, Village No. 19, Pa Tueng Sub-district, Mae Chan District, burying a person who was collecting forest products. The incident resulted in one fatality (male). No injuries were reported.

➢ Response: The Chiang Rai Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM), district authorities, police officers, local administrative organisations, volunteers, foundation personnel, and other relevant agencies have provided assistance and completed the emergency response.
