Earthquake 6.3M with depth of 7 km occurred in Chiang Rai Province at 18:08 (UTC +7). The earthqukae shook provinces in the northern part of Thailand, including Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phayao and Lampang, causing loss of live and damage to the properties and infrastructures. IMPACT - Affected area are 5 provinces (i.e. Chiang Mai,Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Lampang), 12 districts and 406 villages. - 1 death and 23 injured. - at least 8,509 houses, 96 temples, 46 schools, 1 university, 7 churches, 1 hotel, 33 government buildings, 4 bridges and 3 hospitals were damaged RESPONSE - Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDP) conducted relief and reconstruction operation.
