Philippines, Storm and Flooding in Davao del Sur (Region IX)

Issued on 14 July 2026 at 4AM, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated
rainshower or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms may have caused
possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms in Metro Manila and
the rest of the country.
On the same day, Localized Thunderstorms brought moderate to heavy rainfall,
resulting in flooding in several barangays in Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur. Continuous
heavy rainfall in the evening caused flooding in the low-lying areas of Brgys. Zone 1
and Coronon. Floodwaters subsided in the early hours of 15 July 2026.
In response, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through
its Field Office (FO) XI, is closely coordinating with the Local Government Unit (LGU)
of Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur and has ensured the availability of its food and
non-food items (FNIs) for the affected families.
