Description

On 09 April 2023, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) caused flashfloods
in several municipalities in Davao del Sur. On 10 April 2023, the said LPA was estimated based on all available data at 905 km East of Mindanao (9.5°N, 134.5°E). On 11 April 2023 at 4AM, the LPA east of Catanduanes developed into Tropical Depression (TD) “Amang”. At 10PM, “Amang” slightly weakened and made landfall in the vicinity of Panganiban, Catanduanes. On 13 April 2023, “Amang” weakened into a Remnant Low.

A total of 37,504 families or 135,061 persons are affected in 233 barangays in Regions MIMAROPA, V, and XI.
There are 119 families or 435 persons currently taking temporary shelter in 18 evacuation centers in Region V.
There are 48 families or 163 persons temporarily staying with their relatives or friends.
There are 167 families or 598 persons displaced in Regions V and XI.
A total of 16 houses were damaged; of which, 12 are totally damaged and four (4) are partially damaged in Region XI.

A total of ₱6,980,565.34 worth of assistance was provided to the affected families; of which, ₱6,723,238.34 from DSWD and ₱257,327.00 from the Local Government Units (LGUs)
