Description
On 23 December 2022, several municipalities in the Provinces of Oriental Mindoro and Palawan experienced flooding due to the effects of the Northeast Monsoon. A total of 5,983 families or 27,909 persons are affected in 61 barangays in MIMAROPA. There are 858 families or 3,965 persons currently taking temporary shelter in 24 evacuation centers in MIMAROPA. There are five (5) families or 31 persons temporarily staying with their relatives or friends. There are 863 families or 3,996 persons displaced in MIMAROPA. A total of 283 houses were damaged; of which, 44 are totally damaged and 239 are partially damaged in MIMAROPA. A total of ₱1,367,124.00 worth of assistance was provided to the affected families; of which, ₱1,162,700.00 from DSWD, ₱185,979.00 from the Local Government Units (LGUs), and ₱18,445.00 from the other Partners.
