Description
Dapitan City and various areas in Zamboanga del Norte experienced heavy floods due to a Low-Pressure Area in Palawan, on 26 February 2018. Dapitan city Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported the rainfall caused Sibutad, Tolon and Dampalan rivers overflow and inundated villages of Potungan, Dampalan, Opao, Ba-ao, Barcelona, Ilaya, Burgos, Oyan, Diwaan, Tamion, Masidlakon, and Sulangon. Residential areas and public facilities are submerged. A regional road in Mutia, Zamboanga del Norte, was heavily damaged and became impassable.
