Description

Due to the impact of Cyclone “WIPHA”, there was flooding in Kayin State (Hlaingbwe, Myawaddy, Hpa-An, Hpapun, Kyainseikgyi, Kawkareik), Mon State (Thaton, Bilin), Shan State (Mongpauk, Taunggyi, Shwenyaung, Lawksawk, Nyaungshwe, Pindaya), Bago Region (Shwegyin, Nyaunglebin, Daik-U, Taungoo, Oktwin, Waw, Htantabin) in Myanmar. A total of 21 townships were affected by the floods. The flood information are as follows.

1. Disaster Situation
- Flood affected Township - 21 Nos.
- Dead persons - 14 persons
- Injured persons - 9 persons
- Affected Population - > 60,000 persons
- Affected Household - > 15,000 Nos.
- Damaged houses - 25 Nos.
- Temporary Shelter - 134 Nos.
2. Government of Myanmar provided over 245 million kyats for Food, NFI and Cash Assistance.
