Latest update as of 31 December 2012: The situation has improved. The affected population number has decreased to 912 people. However, the fatality was reportedly 6 death in Terengganu. The flood has worsened and affected more than 20,000 people in Pahang, Terengganu, Johor and Kelantan. 5 people were reportedly killed due to the incident. Herewith the detail information based on the National Security Council (MKN) report as of 28 December: *AFFECTED AREA AND POPULATION* 1. KELANTAN (6,467 people) - Khota Baru - Pasir Mas - Pasir Puteh - Tumpat 2. TERENGGANU (14,964 people, 5 death) - Setiu - Besut - Kuala Terengganu - Marang - Hulu Terengganu - Dungun - Kemamam 3. PAHANG (347 people) - Kuantan - Pekan 4. JOHOR (13 people) - Kluang - Kota Tinggi The local authorities were doing their best to cope the situation by evacuating the victims, establishing evacuation post, providing food and doing other necessary action.
