Early on Sunday 15 September 2013, Mt. Sinabung in North Sumatera has erupted and caused thousands of people evacuated. This eruption did not caused any casualties but affecting people from the Karo district of North Sumatera to evacuate. As of 20 September 2013 number of people evacuated reduced from 17,378 to 12,322 in several evacuation areas to include: Jambur Sempakata (2308), Jambur Tuah Lopati (1600), Klasis GBKP (800), GBKP Kota/Gedung KKR (1200), GBKP Kota/Gedung Serbaguna (239), Mesjid Istikar Barastagi (310), Mesjid Agung (182), Zentrum (339), GBKP Simpang VI (220), Paroki (340), GBKP Sukamakmur (200), GBKP Jl. Katacane (190), GBKP Asrama Kodim (9), Jambur Dalihan Na Tolu (1406), KNPI/Gedung Serbaguna (200), GPdI Ora et Labora (105), Gereja GBKP Katepul (275), Gereja Bethel Kabanjahe (49), Posko Tongkoh/jambur Tongkoh (307), Kantor ASAP (58), Batu Karang (921), Kuta Rayat (1900), Jambur Payung (1500), KWK Berastagi/Perempuan (537), Klasis Berastagi/Laki-laki (496). As of 22 September 2013, number of evacuees has been reduced to 4,349 at the following evacuation centres: a. Jambur Tuah Loh Pati 70 b. Masjid Agung 50 c. GBKP Zentrum 81 d. Masjid Istikar Berastagi 112 e. KWK Berastagi 214 f. Kantor Klasis GBKP Kota 650 g. Jambur Sempakata 1500 h. KNPI 42 i. GPdI Ota et Labora 45 j. Batukarang 1111 k. Jambur Payung 404 l. Kutatayat 70 so far there is no report on any damage or casualties due to this event Rapid response team of Indonesian Disaster Management Agency along with related local government agency provided emergency response activities. Provincial disaster management agency has provided 2000 blanket for the evacuees BNPB provided 200 units of temporary shelters and 1,500 package of ready to eat meal. The emergency response operation will be ended on 22 September 2013, and people that live within 300 km radius permitted to return to their home.
