➢ Chronology:
● An eruption occurred on Monday, 31 August 2026, at 12:00 WIB, with an eruption column reaching approximately 3,500 m above the summit (± 5,960 m above sea level). This was an initial eruption, and the possibility of a larger eruption cannot be ruled out.
● Based on visual and instrumental monitoring, an increase in volcanic activity at Mount Sinabung was observed. Therefore, the activity level of Mount Sinabung was raised from Level II (Alert) to Level III (Standby), effective from 31 August 2026 at 12:30 WIB.
