Description
Several volcanic tremors that registered at magnitude of around 3.9 - 4.9 in the vicinity of Mount Ili Lewotok in Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, have resulted in the evacuation of 723 people. Most of the evacuees are originated from villages of Lamabute, Napasabok, Lamawolo, Waimantan of Ile Ape Timur District. There were no death and injuries reported, however five houses have been damaged due to landslide. Response by the Indonesian Government Center for Volcano and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG) confirmed that the volcano status for Mount Lewotok is still at Level 2 (advisory) and there was no eruption yet. National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) sent Rapid Response Team to assist BPBDs of NTT Province NTT and Lembata Regence and humanitarian partners in assessing the situation and in providing immediate assistance to the evacuees.
